Meet Coach Courtenay Schurman

Coach Court, here! I am a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certified through the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association). For over 25 years I have helped clients achieve success in the mountains as an alpine conditioning coach.

I am also a Precision Nutrition Master Health Coach working toward my National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach credential (NBC-HWC.)

Some of my adventures include eight summits of Mt. Rainier, a climb of Kilimanjaro along the Western Breach route, a trek across the Tongariro Alpine Crossing in New Zealand, and a summit of Mauna Loa, among many others. I hike regularly in the Cascade Mountains with my best canine buddy, Ajax.

As a lifelong learner, I continue to add to my toolkit which includes coursework in Change Psychology; Sleep, Stress, and Recovery; and Chat GPT/AI for Coaches. I have also added transformational journal writing to my coaching toolbox with study through the International Association for Journal Writers (IAJW).

I believe everyone is a work in progress. We each have different stories. We all add value to our communities. I want to help you discover hidden strengths and talents so that you leave knowing your full potential. You are stronger than you realize.

Meet Doug Schurman

Doug plays a crucial behind-the-scenes support role for Thrive Clues. He enjoys wilderness sports and nature. He has a passion for photographing wildlife with a specific interest in birds. He also enjoys learning about and testing the latest and greatest developments in human performance training.  He coaches and competes in Track and Field throwing events.

Doug’s clients have reached the summits of mountains including Mt. Everest, Denali, Mt. Rainier, volcanoes around the world, and Himalayan peaks. They have also participated in various backpacking and trekking adventures in the Grand Canyon and on sections of the Pacific Crest Trail.

Doug gets motivated when he works with another person with specific physical goals. Virtually anything is possible when a person has motivation. The human body has almost unlimited potential that most people only tap into 10%. He likes to work with people who are constantly expanding their comfort zone. This is where he believes life exists.
